you can put a valve inside the engine compartment in your incoming cooling line or lines to tow the ski. Ive seen engines get flooded with water numerous times while towing. We towed Joe's sj out to Todos once and was completly full of water when we got there.

Well for me I like a little more positive turning for the surf. This is what Ive noticed from the pump being 3" back. I think the weight being back from both engine and pump this would help with backflips on flat water as well as not pearling in the surf.
