there is an exit to the pisser on bottom, exit to stinger (less flow) is on top. The heavy sand goes to bottom and out the pisser.

I havent run this pipe in sand, I have run TNT and RRP wet pipes and they clog BAD. PFP has exit pisser run from bottom of water jacket so gravity is huge in this factor. I have never clogged a PFP but never not clogged a wet pipe in sand. I keep my PFP setup for surf trips now, Just swap...
