    Superjet Bogs

I could use some help troubleshooting from the group. So I finally got Project Boat Anchor out yesterday https://www.x-h2o.com/threads/project-boat-anchor-superjet.193224/. Holy Crap! 6 years has passed. So to start, fresh engine with JM crank, OEM seals, OEM gaskets, New Reeds, 0.50 over...

99 seadoo xp oil tank fill location

No, the 1999 XP is a 951 with reeds so no rotary gear like the 787 and smaller Seadoo's. Only thing you have to worry about is the oil pump seizing if the drive hasn't been removed when going to premix. But if it does it will just strip the plastic drive.

What causes this on cylinder walls?

Remember these from back in the day?

What causes this on cylinder walls?

Yes, you do as water still sits in the waterbox no matter what you do and with a port open will get rust into the cylinders just like you have.

    The Little Prince (1984 JS440)

16.5 seems pretty low on that. I am running a bone stock Yamaha 650 in my 1991 440 hull with a 550 pump and a straight pitch Skat 19 is perfect.

98 xp decals and trim work

Best fitting and easiest are the OEM grips. Still available and are about $30. What typically kills the VTS is water getting in through a bad rubber boot at the jet pmp. Make sure you get a new one with your replacement VTS. VTS is really nice on the 1997+ XP hulls so I would repair it.

Is the sport / market declining?

It is strange for sure. I am 48 so I don't consider myself old but maybe I am... Driving through the neighborhoods the last few weekends going to my dad's house I couldn't help but notice there was not a single kid outside on a warm 70 degree Saturday afternoon. Come to think of it there were no...

Is the sport / market declining?

I am done with anything political in this thread... Back to the topic I have my opinions on what is happening with the sport and like most things there is no one easy answer. 1. COVID Bubble: We had the covid bubble where everyone wanted anything outdoors including skis so they were coming out...

Is the sport / market declining?

If you want to cry about gas prices then California has been higher than the rest of the country for the last 20 years. California gas prices are also down $1.10 per gallon from last year. It ain't the gas prices keeping people from riding. As was already said, drilling more will not help. We...

Is the sport / market declining?

You do realize we already pump more crude than any other country and it has been going up every year? So supply is already up and demand is down from it's peak in 2019 yet gas prices are still high...... The other driving factor is the gas companies, they like profits and large ones at that so...

701 runs like a stabbed rat for 15-20 seconds, then sounds like it's being choked out.

If you are doing an new engine or new top-end because the old one failed. #1 is the rebuild the carb. Lucky it didn't cost you a new engine.

    Turf Tip #1

Turfing is hard work especially the heat gun and razor knife but an ice cold beer helps the burnt fingertips. If it is hot and humid VB is hard to beat, not that XXXX that @waxhead drinks :p. Mexican beer is either Pacifico or Modelo. Doe Equis and Tecate are terrible, LOL.
