The pole size isnt the issue at all. If the pole sat at the lowest setting on the hood it will be a piece of cake to get up on it. Just need to straighten her out a bit and youre gtg.
I had the pleasure of riding the project ski today and it was a blast! Much different then my stock bodied sn sj. It handled really well, handled the surf good, was much lighter than my ski, and was fun to jump. Thanks for a good night at the lake Quinc!!

Damn it! I was just logging in to tell you all I got the whole thing apart..Pistons were scored badly. Crank looks perfect and I was pumped about that until I read miles post lol! There is only very little side to side play in the rods and its spinning smooth. No discoleration either...
