My two cents would be to add an MSD enhancer for about the same money to bump the timing and make it hit harder. Lightened stock flywheel or aftermarket aluminum flywheel would be next on the list.

As stated earlier, it totally sounds like it is 180 off. I’m sure you have checked and rechecked but I have seen that many times and my money is also on plug wires swapped

A piece of Gorilla Tape over the switches will absolutely not allow water in. They are filled with potting and are therefore a non-serviceable or repairable item even at the factory. Faulty brains go in the garbage can.

As John said, heat the housing but only the hub, no need to heat the large part of the housing. Probably goes without saying but thought I should add that. Without heat they can be a bear to move, the hub will grow a lot when it’s warm.

I don’t know what else you have but obviously you need a lever and cable holder for the pump end and some way to secure the cable to the trim ring like a heim joint or oem ball and pivot.

Yes, they bolt to any Yamaha 144/155 Reduction nozzle drilled/tapped horizontally for trim. I would think you could use any single pull cable without the roller. I had them running with an XS cable and holder
