Teen Drowns in Lake St. Clair

This girl went to my school, i didn't know her but we all just got an e-mail about it.... A tragedy on Lake St. Clair claimed the life of a teenage girl, Memorial Day weekend. The victim is the daughter of prominent Macomb County Realtor Ralph Roberts. Investigators said 18-year-old Kolleen...

haha yea, that sad thing here is that i do have a stock backup ski (SXR) but after riding this hull and can't stand riding anything else. i did clean up the electrical box over the winter and everything's fine now. the only thing i had to replace was the cdi which wasn't broken (was going with...

pete, yea i checked all the connections. i even took them all off then put them back on. still just a click. i'm a little worried as to why the motor was locked up and had to be spun the other way to free it. maybe it's just something simple like the bendix was stuck on the flywheel or...

i've never even thought of checking that, how can you tell if it's rotting on the inside?

so does anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing these problems. i would like it to be coincidence, but it seems a little wierd that i have a broken fuse, bad bendix, then bad starter, in that order, in less than a month's time.

I started off with 115 pilots and 112.5 mains, and now we're up to 120 pilots and 115 mains. i haven't gotten to run these yet because of my awesome luck, but i'll let you know how it goes.

well the problem with that is since i have an aftermarket hull, the set-up is a little different. i have tried to remove just the headpipe before, and it wouldn't come out because the manifold is closer to the side of the hull (narrower hull). i may be able to just tuck the headpipe back...

yea it's a factory pipe, but it sure as hell isn't easy to remove. i have to remove the battery tray, gas tank (full), then the chamber and headpipe. hopefully i can remove it without taking the pipe out like you said, that'd be killer.

lol yea thanks for that. right now i'm trying to figure out if there's a way to pull the starter without removing the pipe/manifold. i'm guessing no, but damnit i'm gonna try.

WTF i am so freaking pissed i'm ready to tie my motor to my ankle and jump off the dock. i put in my new magoo motor in april, then went to go start it up in early may. nothing. so i tore off the pipe thinking it was the starter, but it worked fine. then i opened the electrical box just to...

    HELP, compression problems!

if you look closely at the pictures, you'll see that the back piston has virtually no carbon build-up on it. paul said that it probably wasn't getting any fuel so the cylinder basically had no oil in it causing it to have low compression and to overheat and melt the orings, which also may have...

    HELP, compression problems!

alright i found the problem today. it looks like the carb gasket that covers the jets/needle/seat assembly in the back carb is bad. it wasn't pressing itself down enough, and there was fuel on the outside of the gasket. i replaced it with one from my 38's and everything appears to be in...

    HELP, compression problems!

very good point, i never thought of that. it's possible especially since the orings were melted a bit.

    HELP, compression problems!

Yea the pistons are still in great shape, and the cylinder walls still have the criss-cross pattern when i run my fingernail over them, so i think everything's good. the orings between the domes and the sleeves were a little melted though. Paul says he thinks the leak in the carb leaned out...

    HELP, compression problems!

wattage, thanks for the help, a leak down test is gonna be my next option if this doesn't work. paul read this from atlanta and pmed me with his personal cell number so he could help me out (awesome guy) he said to pull the head and see if there was deto or anything in the back cylinder...

    HELP, compression problems!

I've been breaking in my new Magoo motor this week, and i've run into a problem. I had it out yesterday, ran only about a 1/4 tank through it with no issues, compression was 180 in the front and 175 in the back. Took it out today, drove around for a while, then took the hood off. after taking...
