    FPD's "Floatorious P.I.G"

Sorry. Only memories. But, the reason for the "squishiness" or padding, is that the underside is like rubber "brush bristles". This is a good thing, because this area is not glued.

    FPD's "Floatorious P.I.G"

Sorry for the length.... I used the reply as an opportunity to say a few other things. The good news is that the Yamaha glue is only around the edges. It's still a miserable job. But, it's do-able. A chisel will be handy. Then pick the hard stuff off a bit at a time, while drinking.

    FPD's "Floatorious P.I.G"

Gotta pick up a battery. Now that all of the dash stuff is installed I can button up the engine compartment. Just primer lines, bilge wiring, splash guard to go before firing it up. It will be water tested this coming weekend. I expect a few glitches. Steering cable adjustment, carb tweek etc...

    FPD's "Floatorious P.I.G"

The hardest part is getting them off in one piece after Yamaha puts them on. They use something a lot harder than super-glue. It's a miserable thing. This is the 3rd time that I've used this pair. Although I used contact cement to install them, I don't think it's the best glue for the...

Sorry guys... I turfed the rails. It breaks up the color and I'm really happy with the look. We'll see how it lasts.

Surfriding to riser bar, or not to riser bar, that is the question.

I'm not a fan of riser bars either. I find that they make it more difficult to mount the ski after a munch. Elbows don't reach the rails. Some love them for the lower center of gravity (the pole will generally be lower while riding) and other reasons, I'm sure. That said: Choosing a steering...

Not quite done. The bondrails are next. The FFH is gonna use the existing lower holes for the dashboard and 2 of the e-box holes to bolt in. Light at the end of the tunnel. With a little luck and good weather I could finish this weekend............ And finally start the freakin motor!

Top reasons why the south is king...and the north AIN'T.

Just came across this thread and lack the patience to read all of the posts...... That said: I was hatched in Philadelphia, PA. Lived there or near until the ripe old age of 20 or so. After lots of stuff in between that I won't bore you with, I ended up in Florida via the U.S. Navy. At first...

The rest is gravy after today. If I can avoid it, I'll never do it again. Just the deck/tray and bondline rails to go. Not sure what I'll do about the chinpad. Been using the stock one but it's so bastardized and cut up that I hesitate to put the effort into turfing it.

    FPD's "Floatorious P.I.G"

I'm now into the turf job. I SUCK!!! I'm so pissed off right now....at the point of throwing things.... I see why beer is so important for this. Having one now, trying to calm down. I'm wasting more material than I'm using. I've got more seams than a shark attack victim. I might just tear it...

Surfriding Too much power for the surf?

I think the point that is being missed is the "need", or lack thereof, for big power in the surf. 701's can flip with the right wave. 701's can roll any wave. (stock sj hull). I'm glad that I live on the coast. I can't spend what it would take to make my ski even close to fun on a lake. On the...
