im did the same conversion but i haven't done anything with the pump shoe yet, Is it easier to grind out the 122 stock pump shoe and back fill it with tooling epoxy or should i just get a 144 pump shoe and plan on doing some glass work?
I bought a stock FX-1 last year for 1400 ... i stole it pretty much :) now i have about 1200 sunk into it so far, so if you can find an FX-1 with the footholds, tubbies, pipe, and pump conversion for under 2500...that is a good deal in my opinion
pump conversion
Or you can get a hold of a 144 pump and talk to bonzi bob if you don't want to hack your hull...thats what i did. If i had to do it over again i would probably go with the hack job though :)
I live in the chicago are and am looking to see what you have left, shoot me a decent price, and I might buy it all. I really want the Blue hull with the carbon hood, ac pole, and pump/midshaft and waterbox for it. Possibly want the cover too. PM Sent
if you have the bolt on conversion, what do i need to do in order to make the superjet pump seal well into the pump shoe??? Is boring it out to 144 the only answer??? it seams like if you don't do something there will be a huge are for cavitation when the water enters the pump. Any suggestions??
what do you need to do to make sure this is correct??? I have a riva dry type pipe which i just installed but my ski runs fine with no adjustment. I have only rode it 2 times and don't want to keep riding it if it is going to get damaged from not buying the proper parts. I am also running AMS...
Wet
Mine gets wet all the time but it is due to my ability to only do one trick...subs :tomato: Still working on getting used to riding the fx1 so i can start to do some nose stabs and rolls.
Riva Freeride Dry pipe
I just installed a riva freeride dry type pipe in my FX 1 with a little modification to the hood. I had to heat the hood and bend it about 1 1/2 inches to make the pipe fit. Also I had to take the motor mount screws out to pull the motor forward in order for the pipe to...
let me know too
I just got an FX-1 as well and I am doing a pump conversion this winter and figured I would go ahead and mod the hole thing at once so let me know what you end up doing too:shrug: cuz im not sure how to go at this yet
I found that exact battery I think for like $50...check it out. If it doesn't work, I will pay you for it and use it in the powerwheel or something.
