If running a big bore (85.5mm) and running low compression (pump gas), is it acceptable to modify a stock head or is there a need to run a girdled head?? I guess I'm trying to understand what drives the need for a girdled head?

Assume same hull, same pump and exhaust capabilities, which motor has better potential for power utilizing stock parts (no lamey cyls, stroker cranks, etc...)? What are the Pros/Cons of each motor??
