I know I should be happy that my foam is dry...

...but I'm just not. There are a couple of wet spots where I had cracks, but really it's amazingly dry. After all the work to strip the ski, pull of the turf, grind off the glue and hack out the tray, you kind of secretly hope it's going to be a sopping wet mess in there to make it all...

Who's done a no foam refoam?

I'm just about to start tearing my ski apart, and I'm very seriously considering going the no-foam route. This is for flatwater freestyle. My plan right now is a couple of layers of 8.9 oz S-glass on the sides, and a laminate of the same S-glass and some 2mm Coremat on the bottom of the tray. I...

What else should I do when my ski is all torn apart?

My ski is well overdue for a cosmetic facelift (it's looking very beat up) and there are some places where I need to make repairs. One repair is at the right rear where I have some nice cracks under the bondline from 3/4 barrel rolls. So, here's where I'm at in terms of jobs to do: If I'm...

Another Stand Up Sighting in a TV Ad

I am just traveling home from a digitial signage tradeshow, and one of the booths was looping a movie with a stand up in it. It was promoting Sochi, which it turns out is the city in Russi which is hosting the 2014 Winter Olympics. Here's the movie...

    Serious Glossary Thread

Let's try to put together a glossary of terms we use so that people new to the sport have a reference. There's already a pretty funny thread going if you want to have fun with this: http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/70797 Let's keep this one as a real resource for new riders and let off steam in...

    Fun Glossary Thread

I noticed a post today from a new member commenting on all the terms we use and how confusing they can be. It seems that we could put together a pretty good glossary here if someone could help keep the thread clean by consolidating all the terms into one post. What do we think? The other way...

Anyone need a ride from MCO Saturday/to MCO Sunday?

I'm landing at MCO 12:30pm Saturday and then heading straight to the beach. Sunday I have to be back for a 7:00pm flight. If anyone needs a ride around those times then JLMK.

I am a worthless employee today!

Had a great weekend riding, and am too tired, too sore, and thinking too much about jet skis to provide any useful input for my employer today. They get their money's worth out of me the rest of the time, so I feel like I can have a day of less than stellar performance. Who else really isn't...

    Tips on unsticknig electrical box?

OK, 2 days till I leave for Daytona and I've got problems :banghead: I think I have a bad starter solenoid (battery good: 13.1V, S/S switch checks out, solenoid clicks, but no spinny...). No big deal, I have a spare, but here's the problem: the bolts popped off the e-box brackets just fine, but...

    Fun with other peoples' kids

Aren't they fun when you can give them back when they get tired and irritable?

My Sunday, and the two hot blondes....

OK, time for more happiness on the board. I was tooling around the lake on Sunday afternoon - not really doing much since I was in a mellow mood and just felt like a trundle. I went within about 100 feet of a boat, and noticed two suntanned blondes in little bikinis looking my way. I waved...

    XMW Pole Bolt Replacement

OK - anyone got a nifty tips for this? I stripped the thread on one of my pole bolts, and I have a shiny new set from Pat as replacements. The thing is, I'm just not in the mood to pull the whole thing apart, and I can't see how to get the bolts out and back in with the dual breathers in place...

Just fitted my Wammer hood and...

It rocks! :notworthy: Absolutely no hassles putting it all together - the holes for the hooks and latch were pre-drilled and perfectly placed. That mo-fo clamps down TIGHT! I'm using XMW hooks and it's all buttoned up tighter than a duck's arse. Looks like I'll have to get the Dremel out to trim...

    Cone/prop/nozzle bore/cavitation question

I just had my nozzle bored, and I'm worried that I might pick up some cavitation. My setup: Motor: 701, ported, 185 psi, B-pipe, MSD enhancer, lightened flywheel. Pump: Concord 13/15 cut back 3mm, Worx 201, Wet Wolf cone, bored nozzle. I'm wondering whether the cone will cause an issue...

Bolt recommendation for XMW hood hook?

Looks like I need to get a hex head because of the recess. Anyone know the thread size? Better yet, anyone have a McMaster part number?

I love spending money on my ski!!

Deliveries this week: Lightened flywheel (thanks Paul!) Bored pump nozzle (thanks again Paul!) Wammer hood and nose piece (thanks Rod!) XMW hood hooks and latch (thanks Pat!) Finally tracked down a new Jet Pilot side entry vest (thanks Kevin!) And sundry other riding gear (shorts, wrestling...

    Ordering a Wammer hood - 2 holds or 8?

OK, I've finally decided to go ahead and get the Wammer hood. No! You can't talk me out of it - I've spent so long deciding that I feel pretty sure about this. The last remaining question is, 2 handholds or 8? Do people with 8 actually use them (for flatwater)? I think I'd almost prefer 4 -...

    My New Lacrosse Helmet

What do you think? I'm loving it - just what I wanted: face protection, light weight and good peripheral vision. $100 from my local sports store. It's a Cascade CPX Lacrosse helmet (apparently). I was going in there for a hockey helmet but preferred this: can't weight to try it now :fing02:
