Sounds like a solid plan. I would find out what resin they are using. Before make ng the repair, I am sure it's epoxy. But with the high temp stuff there are is a lot of variation in the formula.
1995 great hull with very little damage, you can see the nose of the ski where the gel coat got rubbed away by the PO unpadded winch.. but that's about it. Runs great 155/155 61x. LMK if your interested in seeing it at wave rave. 2000 obo. The ever present peeling hood is free of charge with...
Air Blair DFX for me. All around and especially in bigger surf they just rock. And the ability to swap a pole onto my fixed steer is just really cool. Next year you may see another twist to these skis. Jeff is always reaching for new things.
Was it running good before.. If it was look to a mechanical issue that would cause this like ring end gap. To tight and this happens. Easy to check and fix if done early. Pull the head and look for light scoring to the cylinder, if it’s there pull the cylinder and gap the rings.
That bearing is toast. There shouldn't be any noise coming from it and there is movement. If the others are making noise replace the crank. If its just that one replace it. When you put it back in align/shim the engine.

In the first pic where you want to square off the rounded cut out I would not , square corners cause localized stress and cracks eventually. PM'ed you .
Mine are straight cut I think that they are symmetrical and would look good no matter what you do . Down the road if you want to dress them up with matching aluminum base rings flush to the hull it would be easier if you left yourself a inch or so to work with later. Don't overthink it, push on...
S glass infused= ssstttrong! Nicely done, lines look great. Your on fire, I f I go get lunch I will miss the build. If you build it they will I'll come.
Funny how those sanding hours add up quick. Like those tow hooks thats how I have mine set up. I ride with a old ski boat two point rig in a bag under my handle bar for towing in other skis. It is the only way to tow, no cock eyed tracking.
