I tried to angle the torch to keep the flame away from the aluminum, but the aluminum still heated up as fast, if not faster than, the steel. I thought about a bag of ice water sitting in the flywheel to keep the center cold, but I didn't have that kind of time to keep messing with it last night.

Often times, stock flywheels aren't even balanced. They'll have material removed, but not enough or not in the right place. If I flywheels balance is off substantially, then that engine would surely vibrate more the usual. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Move that steering cable pivot in closer to the steering nozzle so she turns even fast! Looks good! Wish mine was carbon...!

The Rustoleum hammer tone looks good and close to factory and had held up surprisingly well for me. Might want to use a self etching primer first, though.

I've been using the cheap clear stuff. Pulse lines are the only place it doesn't harden, but it's worked fine for me for years now.
