I appreciate the input. I have been in contact with multiple people who have said the 14+ (?) with the short throw can plug and play the thrust innovations column no problem?
I assumed the most beneficial improvement would be the turn plate? I have upgraded the bars on other toys and felt an improvement simply because I took off or added degrees, but that was more preference than actual improvement. Care to elaborate on the jump in improvement from making those...
Hey Fam. Looking to possibly upgrade my 2017 stock steering with this:
https://www.thrustinnovations.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=32_35&products_id=1339&zenid=3nkd0a7jnqjetalp1nv5g6or42
I would then add a zero degree bar and a new a throttle.. This entire purchase upgrade will be...
According to what I've read, it's simply a model number as the 228 is for (don't quote me) 14' + SJ whereas the 201 is for pre 14'. Otherwise, the same thing. Could be wrong though.
I was out riding today (Honeymoon Island) and was talking with a buddy about the Worx 228. He said it's probably not a good idea as our surf and wave area is rather shallow at 2-3 feet in some spots.. Any insights into this matter will help a lot. I personally think it will be fine but I...
Do you have a part number or link to the actual item you ordered? This will save me a lot of time and money so thank you for commenting! Are you seeing vast improvements over stock steering - Tight carving, quick turnarounds?
Hmm.. I was able to get the cover on a total of 1 time. It rained that day so it might have loosened the cover enough to slide over. The seams on the cover are starting to rip as I've basically resorted to stretching it over the back corner. It's not a complete fit, but it secures it enough not...
I have had the OEM cover since purchasing the ski. For the life of me, I cannot get it to go on. Put it on the nose, move the bar straight, and never fail to have one corner of the back not fit.. What gives?
Thanks a lot! Any pictures, shopping list of items and sizes(tools too), and how much beer I'll need to do this is greatly appreciated! @JetManiac - Any chance we can put together a shopping list of all things I'll need to give you all my monies for?
I will also be planning to do the quick...
Thanks for the help. This seems like a large, time consuming endeavor to change out the steering? Would I be correct on that assumption? The ski seems to track well at higher speeds and has no problem carving, but the radius seems wide and you have to give a ton of throttle to not fall off the...
Fabulous! I was hoping it just wasn't me who felt the OEM steering on the SJ is awful. Not sure on the previous years but I know I have a short throw cable for throttle. Won't this prove to be painful if I decide to upgrade the steering plate and throttle? I figured I could start with bars...
Nice! The gulf definitely limits hook up, which is why I wanted to make sure it was well worth it rather than minimal gains. Seems like my new ski will be using the Worx 228 instead of the 201 due to it being new. Ride time will definitely be had, but the grate seems like a reasonable upgrade...
I appreciate the input and completely agree with you. I am not hurting money wise but I am also not trying to throw money at the ski for the sake of having upgrades. It seems like a lot of people recommend the intake grate (and bars/grips) right away if riding in the ocean. I just want to make...
Seems like my 2017 SJ came with hydroturf. However, I noticed people do the diamond or waffle shaped layer over the top.. I am brand new to this and wondering the benefits of the extra layer and whether or not I should be installing footholds beforehand?
Not trying to modify only to have to...
As someone who's to stand ups but progressively getting better, I have noticed hiccups in hook up at times. However, being as new as I am and not doing massive jumps or extreme cornering, how important is a Worx 201 grate to me right now? I imagine more tray time and then buy the grate once I'm...
Looking to replace the bars on my 2017 SJ (ODI Grips aren't fitting on the OEM bar). From what I have read, I should simply buy a new bar and it should plug and play with my current steering system. Someone also mentioned the 2017 brackets for AM steering systems is unfeasible and most likely...
