Trying to remove my motor mount smc insert is what I believe it is called. Looking for advice

this is my first post in the group hopefully I don’t get banned lol. I got banned before I posted anything on a different account and then all it said was contact somebody to resolve the issue but there is no contact line for resolving any issues lol. Not casting any hate but it did say I got banned for spam without posting anything.

Anyways I’m in the process of trying to fix some of the fiberglass on my waveblaster 1, the damage is under the motor mount insert, my motor mount insert was slightly loose in the middle but now that I have tried to remove it I see that it is still very intact on the edges. I am struggling to remove it and I am looking for some help. Anything would be appreciated. This is my first jetski project ever and so far it seems to be pretty big. I’ll try to include some photos.IMG_2460.jpegIMG_2461.jpeg

The motor mount inserts arent coming out. If you had a new one you could sand the old one off and replace it, Im not sure they were ever available. Repair it from the bottom, you will likely end up with a sizeable hole once the broken fibers have been removed.

It will come out with enough heat and prying but you haven't thought this through , if you do get it out out how are you going to get it glued back in and lined up properly , Kevbo is right , fix it from the bottom and if the insert is loose in the middle try working some epoxy cabosil up under it and putting weight on it till the epoxy cures , if you continue down the road you are on you will most likely make it into an unfixable mess.

Okay should I try to epoxy it to the fiberglass that is there now and then once cured do the fiberglass repair?
Would this be the right adhesive I should be using? 3M 08219 SMC/Fiberglass Repair Adhesive

Watch some videos on composite repairs. Prepping the material is extremely important. I like to use a non-blushing table top epoxy for repairs because its a little softer and has good adhesion.

If that hole is right under the insert , count yourself lucky, at least you have a backer to build up the fiberglass onto, use epoxy resin and fiberglass cloth for the repairs , no need for expensive repair adhesives here.

You can always cut as much out of the bottom as needed and put it back, that way you know for sure the two are bonded together properly.

Maybe take a sharpie and go all the way around the insert then remove it if you are that far along , this will give you the reference marks so you know exactly where to glue it back in the hull at . Fix the hole then glue it back in . Heat and impact are the only two things that will separate the green death glue .

I would glue it back in with epoxy and cabosil using a lot of weight on top of it to hold it down to the hull till it cures , I usually use my stock of old batteries as ballast for something like this.
