ok well you wil be pleased to know we have been working hard on this and we are a few weeks away from an announcement. I do not expect this to be a big seller and i think its going to be a run of about 20 of them and then we will be done

Do you have a rough price in mind and Is this something we would be able to drop some money down to secure one? Don't want to miss this.

OK how about some updates.
Just wanted to give everyone an update on the 144mm pump project and open up some discussion, as this is very much a work-in-progress that we're building with your feedback in mind.

We’ve made a pump shoe that fits the OEM 122mm shoe bolt holes. By removing the lip, we were able to open up the area to fit the 144mm pump properly. From there, the plan is to make a liner that drops into a flange, similar to how Kawasaki sets up their pumps — meaning we won’t need to use the front locating bolts anymore.

One thing we ran into is that the top two mounting bolts on the 144 stator are in the way. So the plan is to delete those and, in the liner we’re making, relocate the mounts. We’ll also add an adapter onto the rear nozzle so the pump can still bolt together up top with four bolts for strength. That part is already worked out and looking good.

The part I’m still playing around with is how to handle the rear nozzle bolts. I could make an adapter and have it welded on — but that kind of defeats the idea of a bolt-in kit, and I want this to be as easy as possible for everyone. There will be a small amount of grinding needed on the OEM 144 stator, but nothing difficult.

I’ve got a few ideas in my head for the rear setup, but I’m also keen to hear what you guys think. Would you prefer a completely new nozzle if it pushed the price up a bit? Or would you rather modify existing parts and keep the kit more affordable?

The whole goal here is to reuse as much existing hardware as we can, keep costs down, and make this something that’s accessible for everyone — not just a few big-budget builds.

Appreciate everyone who's been following along and throwing ideas out there — feel free to let me know your thoughts! We're shaping this as a community project.

A new nozzle would probably increase the cost significantly. Nozzles get broken sometimes too so I'm not sure that's the way. Maybe some bolt on brackets that mount to the pump flange? Could probably have them cut from stainless and bent 90 pretty cheap.IMG_20250427_130449672.jpg

yes we are thinking along those lines. there is not much room under the tabs to hold a thread and this makes it tricky

If it was easy, anyone could do it. With your capability, what if you made a universal 144 yamaha nozzle with the ability to bolt on different mounting tabs for different applications, i.e. Superjet or FX1 or even sold with no mounting tabs so billy jo bob redneck can make his own tabs to do a 144 pump swap into whatever backyard wavejammer project he's working on. Anything specifically FX1 is a low volume project, but being able to also use the nozzle in the Superjet or even other projects might bring costs down. Make sense?

This is a beautiful idea. A interchangeable bracket made for different hulls. Selling that nozzle separately as a replacement part for whatever ski has a 144 pump witha hull specific bracket would be cool. Although being able to utilize any 144 nozzle would be nice. I'm curious as to how hard it would be to utilize the 4 bolts and the outer edges of the pump and build a bracket that basically lays around the outside edges of pump housing on the flat portion before it tapers towards the aft end. Even if you made the bracket 1/4 inch thick all the way around just sell 4 new bolts that accommodate length of the bracket added to the pump. Then just attach some metal to top side of pump to regular mounting ear point of specified vessel. I'm not sure if you can picture it basically same idea as above but not making a new nozzle just adding more length to pump by either adding a backet gets sandwiched between pump and nozzle or just layed behind nozzle that eventually makes it's way to mounting points on ski.

It pushes the price up but somethings are what they are
Just think about how many hours you’re saving people from doing a full conversion! This is so worth it, if not even for a performance gain but for the ability to use readily available parts VS practically nonexistent FX-1 pumps/seals/impellers. This idea is a win overall and I’m buying for sure

That's where we are heading to, the similar idea, It pushes the price up but somethings are what they are, It does mean we can have multiple different uses for the nozzle which is always a win. Nice drawing by the way
Listen give me a reason to get an fx1. Loved mine and my dad owned one new. If I can put his butt on one and blow his mind it would be worth every penny.

I really liked the way the FX1 handled , if felt more like a 550 to me than a Superjet , I have ridden a few stockers and one with a pump swap , blackjack carbs , a Bpipe and head , the one with all the goodies was tits and beer.
