    300/440/550 Best place to buy?

I found mine on eBay. I can't remember what seller I bought them from on eBay, but sere is a set of 0.25mm oversize (they also come in other sizes)...

    300/440/550 Best place to buy?

It's up to you, but I wouldn't waste your money on OEM pistons. I'd order up a set of WSM pistons, as I've had good luck with them in the past on my old 550 as well as a couple old 650s. They're usually a lot cheaper than OEM pistons.

    Superjet Rideplate question

It will work, My '95 a Worx mounted to the back when I bought it. There is no need to drill 2 additional bolt holes in the middle. It will just use the forward most and rear most ride plate holes on your ski. There is no need for having it attached by 6 holes, that's probably why the RN hull...

    Modded 89 JS 550 Tricks?

Here are some videos the the freestyle championships back in 1995. You'll notice some 550s in here: Amateur: http://www.superjett.com/jetski-videos-freeride-freestyle/World%20Finals%20with%20permission%20from%20IJSBA/1995_Havasu_Amateur_Freestyle.wmv Pro...

    Modded 89 JS 550 Tricks?

ahh yes, one of my favorite. I you to love trying to do them while going as fast as possible. As long as you're a little less than full throttle and have a bit of throttle left to give it, it never matters how fast you're going. Aside from that, I think a flat water barrel roll and back flip...

    300/440/550 650sx mods

The biggest bang for your buck will be an aftermarket pipe. This will give you the most noticeable power gains for a bolt on mod. Keep in mind you'll have to rejet your carb with the aftermarket pipe. Aside from that, a stainless impeller and a milled head or aftermarket head to bump up the...

300/440/550 Mariner ride plate vs OEM ride plate

I ride plate alone isn't the answer to a porpoising problem on the 440/550 hull. I went through this with my old 550. Yes, an extended rideplate will help, but it will never cure this problem. On these hulls it's all about the rider's technique. You have to learn to work the the ski and...

What impeller for a stock ski?

I've been running an old "I" series Solas impeller in my stock SJ. I did however had it repitched to 13/16 and set back back Impros. Otherwise it would have been much too tall for the stock motor. I've been quite impressed with this impeller, but I don't have anything to compare it to as far as...

Why did my engine explode? *Solved*

As other have said, looks lean to me. I would also definitely look to the intake for a bad seal which caused an air leak. That could explain the poor idle as well as the other obvious engine issue.

    gel coat glitter paint

From what I remember, it's a lot of work in spraying the different stages. When I used to work at a local car dealership (about 12 or 13 years ago), one of the guys in the body shop was repainting a boat of his with this type of stuff. From what I remember, it was about a 5 stage process, or...

    Footholds for big feet?

My brother has a size 13 foot and doesn't have any complaints about the WCF footholds..... neither do I, but my feet are size 10. He wears wake skate shoes while riding and has plenty of room. If I remember correctly, he put one layer of 8mm Hydroturf underpadding under his turf on the bottom.

    Beach carts in soft sand

On the two wheel beach carts we made for standups, we have always had the best luck with wheel barrow tires. We thought a wide tire would be best and initially tried turf tires like the ones you find on the front of a small lawn tractor. Aside from the fact that the turf tires are MUCH...

    side rear mounted exhaust?

I never had a problem with my old 550 in the stock setup. The only complaint I had was the noise because it's always above the waterline. A lot of people don't like the exhaust blowing back your the face, but it never really bothered me all that much. Nothing like the taste of burnt Amsoil...
