They also have the OEM start/stop connectors, but have a min purchase of $20
There is no performance difference between the two stator/flywheel combos. The enhancer replaces your stock CDI, and should come with a jumper to use with a 61x or 62t stator...
As long as you match flywheel and stator you will be fine. If you are using a 62T stator with a 61X or 6m6 CDI, there is a plug (white /red i think) that will need to change genders.
Could be the white wires crossed on the enhancer, or could a stator pulse coil problem. The "sparks when releasing start button" is a common issue: http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/84126-RN-SJ-only-has-quick-flash-of-spark-after-you-let-of-the-starter-button
I have one made from wood, and one from 3" PVC. I prefer the PVC. I used a couple 10' sections, 4 street 90s, 4 T's... like this but superjet width and street 90's into the T's:

I heard of people using grease or silicone on the seal. That solenoid should probably be replaced and clean up the grounds, everything else is pretty water resistant.
Have you tried unplugging the plug from the start/stop with the black and white wires? That is your stop switch, if the white wire is grounded you will not get spark. You can also measure the resistance across your plug wires, or trim them back a little bit to ensure a good connection. If those...
