It seems it's more a racer thing. Some say better hookup and recovery.
Also better turning since now it's setting th turn nozzle back.
But some say it changes the way it turns...Only by a little so eventually you just get used to It.

I didn't have my motor loose on the plate on install.
One thing I didn't like is that the plate unlike stock sits right against the cases. So I eneed up using some hard thin rubber pads in front and back then mounted the plate and moved the plate and squared it so the...
Yea I hear ya. Everything was loose and still needed to move back. Someone I know said his plate needed modification just to make his mounts as they would not go wide enough not sure if that was the problem,but I haven't heard back.

It will also depend on the amount of compression...and your squish clearence.
If you want a no brainer ski and wanna stay away from thinking your motor will stick from running to hard stay where you are at.
There is something to be said about a ski that runs hard but is also really reliable...
