Buying av gas to use in something other than an aircraft is illegal so it's not BS but at the same time it's technically illegal to buy fuel from a normal gas station and use it in a boat or buy gas for use in farm equipment and putting it in a normal car used on the road. Last I heard, one of the small airports around here will only allow their gas to be put into an aircraft. No containers. It really just depends how paranoid the people are who sell it and no one really cares.
Filling your boat at a gas station is illegal?? BS.
Yes, purchasing fuel that is intended to be used off road (off road diesel) and filling a car or truck with that fuel IS illegal.
From what I read Aviation fuels ar not regulated by the FAA. The EPA would be the regulatory comission responsible due to the ammount of lead in the fuel.
