don't know why some one would destroy a trophy they won in a PRO sport. that would be like throwing away you NFC/AFC championship trophey because you did not with the superbowl. keep it and use it at incentive to get first or second.

i would rather tell my grankids about how i came in third and felt i had the best run at that event. instead of saying i came in third and made an ass of myself by destroying the trophey in front of a bunch of jr riders.

i've never had any beef with you.. and i mean this in the nicest way possible.. every one of your statements is still an opinion, none of them are fact!

i dont' want this to turn into one of those "well you spelled that wrong" arguments.. just responding to your response to my comment..

No worries - I didn't take it that way: it's all good  I just went back and realized that a few of those statements were subjective.

Moondance

Just plain me....
OK......I was at Nats & I saw what happened; but I'm going to keep my comments about specific individuals to myself.

HOWEVER......my beef is with the trophy chuncking (and yes, several of us witnessed others partaking in this by more than one individual).

If I heard it once, I heard it 10 times about the cost of entry fees, the lack of promotion, sponsorship, vendor booths, payouts, etc. that was at Nationals. IMO those who chose to destroy trophies, not only made spectacles of themselves, they also showed a total lack of respect for not only the kids but for fellow riders, spectators & mainly the promotors who have provided an event for them.

If you have a small group who are going to decide to act like this, why would anyone want to provide sponsorship. I know it is not cheap to provide this calibur of event, including providing trophies to all who have won.

If a person is going to be in the public eye (and yes, we as spectators & fellow riders are that public eye), then you have to be on your p's & q's. Pick appropriate times to have your melt downs & keep them to yourself.

Could you have imagined the photo op of Jason standing with his boat, handing the young lad his trophy & hull? That should have been the scene. That would have made Ride magazine.

Peace out....

well stoyer did looked pissed when he was walkin around after tha pro freestyle. i think he was kinda pissed about eric malone bein there too.

Why do you think that he was pissed that Eric was there? Just curious.

Malone made the Ohio event so he qualified to go to Nationals.

After riding Malones ski, I can't imagine anyone being able to get the power out of a SJ to go as big as he does on the EME ski or to get backies around like he does. It's freakin 260lbs and around 200hp.
........unless you weigh about 100lbs.

I like all the guys that competed. I hate that that all the BS happened and that the jr's saw some stuff that they shouldn't have. It's over now and in my opinion I think everyone should just learn and grow from the incidents mentioned.

Let's ride!:Banane01:

i read earlier in the post where some stated that a trophey should not be important to you after the age of 13.

here is a suggestion.

if you do not want the trophey, instead of breaking it or throwing it away, sign it and give it to one of the kids that is your fan. it will mean a world to them. and it would help the sport. the kids would think that is cool that they got an autographed trophey that a rider won.
