For all of you chemists on the forum-

Is it safe to store MTBE in a stainless drum? MTBE being part of VP MS109 fuel???
The reason for the question is I know that certain chemicals have strange reactions
to certain metals and obviously would rather not burn down my house learning this the
hard way.

Gil what are you doing with a stainless gas drum? what happen to the drum the VP came in?

Do you have a cool stainless drum? Thats what I thought!!! If you were to have a cool stainless drum you would probaly use it too.
It's the newest way to save the sport!!! Now get on board or be sqaure!!! LMAO

Besides, mine did not come in a drum, it came in a rail car tanker that is parked in my backyard. Do you know how hard it would be to carry a rail car to the lake?

The drum and the fuel will stay fine. Watch the seals though, but for the most used today composites it should be safe too.
