i have 2 in my blaster. they work good. but not for and hour or 2 sitting in the water. they tend to leak when the boat bobs up and down. little water little water little water its full.

Have one in my SXR. Love it. I ran duckbills before, and had them fall off and flood the skis I have owned. Only had the versiplug fail one time after a small shell got wedged in there somehow. It was sitting in the water, and I noticed the boat listing and ran the bilge before it filled up too bad. Just make sure your hull is free of debris, and run an automatic bilge. After that experience I plan on getting an auto bilge to prevent that issue in the future.

That is exactly what I have found. If it bobs, it will leak. Better than the Duck Bill IMHO.

Thats why I'll stuff a piece of foam behind it if I end up leaving it in the water for an extended period of time.

following up on this post after it died to give some more info. you guys are right, if its bobbing it will still let in water or If its beached on shore and the back half is in the water it will let in water. After about 10 minutes on shore my ski was filled to a little above the bottom of the engine. The foam trick is the ticket though, carry two pieces in your pocket when your bobbing pop those in and your golden, its really surprising how well the ball valve seals. I had mine on the trailer on an angle to drain and put the foam in and it didnt leak on bit. So really the only pros it has over the scupper is you can plug it on the run whenever you want instead of the scupper you have to take off the hood and then use a freezer plug or something of that matter
