Time to either replace or overhaul my zieman trailer, this model not made anymore. I like the way it tows and its only 11 fee long so its easy to store and park, large 13 inch wheels also. Got a new diamond plate box on its way, will update as it gets done. Both crossmembers need replacement but the basic frame is solid.

Box showed up today but damaged and only 11 inches deep at the opening, can't even get a fuel jug in there so its going back for credit.

Crab, had you considered having it blasted and galvanized? My stepdad had a trailer done and it wasn't that much (compared to a new trailer). I think it was down in Portland though. If not, check out Sherwin Williams marine and industrial paints, very good stuff. All of our pipes and storage tanks at work are painted with the stuff, very heavy duty. They even have a powdered zinc you can mix in with their products.

I did consider it, but in the end going with rustoleum rusty metal primer with black topcoat, i have had great luck with it in the past and its not expensive. Sealing the ends of the tube crossbars, building a can holder, and beach cart mount also are part of the job. New bunks also and a place to hang the spare tire. I prefer having the painted finish so I can grind to bare metal at any point, weld then repaint a spot to protect it again. For removing the heavy rust the needle scaler's work great.

good inspiration :) got a sweet aluminum trailer from a guy that had three 440s strapped to it for free and it needs major overhaul.
