I sold some parts to someone and they were not totally satisfied so he emailed me back and I said I would gladly refund him for the part he was not satisfied with. Now he is demanding that I refund him completely and that he is going to tell everyone what a bad seller I am, blah blah blah..

I think I'm doing what I can to make the situation right...

Thoughts/Comments???

The emails go like this:

(His name has not been included as I don't feel it necessary right now to call him out because he may realize that I am doing what I can to do the right thing)

The plate (if you need it) can just be a piece of aluminum with the numbers engraved on it. Any trophy shop can make one for ya. I dont know who or why someone at my shop removed it. They knew it was my ski and it kinda pissed me off, but not much I could do at that point. As long as you hold the title, you are good to go.

Put it in an envelope, put a stamp on it and I'll be sure to include the cost of the stamp with your refund.

I see where this is going and I'm not gonna get into it with you. Your not happy, no problem, I'll do the right thing and refund the portion that you paid for that specific item. Don't start being a jerk or you will get nothing!

really be a jerk? i told you 3 times to make sure you included them. and i even put it in paypal. and then after you ship it you never say that you didnt ship them along with it. you say oh it was taken...but yet you knew there was only one humm.. its not even for me its for a buddy that gave me money to pay for it. so really i dont care if you refound the money or not im not out anything, then you tell me to go buy a new one why would i when it was to be included..dont worry i wont be a jerk il just make sure people know how great you are. its typical to send a part back and get nothing. why should i put the ball in your court when YOU didnt give me what i bought in the first place? humm think im stupid... so are you going to refound the money and i send it back or no? i just need a yes or no awnser..

First of all, I have been out of town since Monday night, trying to keep up on all of these emails with an iphone which is a little frustrating to do.

I went to the shop early monday morning to remove the tag for you. Thats when I discovered that it was missing. I ripped everything out of the ski searching for the "second" tag to send. I could not for the life of me find one. I opened up a manual for that model ski and found out that there is only one tag on that model ski.

Since I wanted to get your parts to you in a timely manner, I taped the most important piece - the title- to the chin pad that you also wanted and mailed it off.

The shipping for that box WITH delivery confirmation was $13.40 - $5.40 MORE than you were charged for shipping.

Now you tell me you aren't happy with just the title, no problem - send it back with a single stamp and I will GLADLEY refund the portion that you paid for the title as well as the cost of the stamp. I will NOT refund the entire portion because you got the chin pad in the exact condition as described and you have made no mention thus far about being dis satisfied with that part.

So, if you want a refund for the title, send it back and I will send you the paypal refund and make sure that no fees are taken out.

I've already explained the same thing to you in your paypal claim that you just filed.

I have no problem reselling that part. I've had several emails about it and I will gladly take it back.

This is what I can do for you to make it right.

you should have sent him the plates, or told him you didn't have them.

that's what he paid for - so either:

1. find the plates and send them
2. buy a replacement set and send them
3. offer a partial refund for what a set of plates would cost to have made (zeski25 will make a set for $20 shipped)

Dude, you are being a jerk. Seriously, why the kid should go through all off this? He's got the parts from the "reputable" board member, he is new, you are old, and you FAILED to provide the promised goods.
Suck it up and make it right.

if he specifically mentioned the plates and others then you're at fault for not coming clean before sending it to him.
penguin is right.

"3. offer a partial refund for what a set of plates would cost to have made (zeski25 will make a set for $20 shipped)"

I don't mind doing that either.

Ya, I know I didn't send the plates cuz they weren't there when I got to the shop. Didn't think it was this big of a deal, so I'm offering a FULL refund for the title + the cost to mail it back to me...

How is that wrong?

Someone jacked the plate of the ski (which is another issue I need to deal with at the shop when I get back there) I went and looked at the pics of the ski that I took when I left it there and the plate WAS on the ski then. So some one at the shop is lying about taking it off which sux because I trust those guys :(

What kind of a crackhead would do that and why? What kind of people do you work with? Just curious...

I don't know why someone would have taken it. I was pretty upset when i got there and found out. I asked the guys that would have moved the ski around and they said they didn't know anything about it. I put a lot of trust in the people I work with and it's really disappointing to think someone would lie to me. And even if they planned on doing something with it, don't they realize that I have the ORIGINAL title and just a plate is no good? Duh!

And I wonder why that model only has one plate anyway... every ski I've had has always had two... :(

It's been a long sh*ty week for me and maybe I barked at him too soon without taking a few minutes to find a solution so I'm wrong in that sense. I emailed him and offered him the refund to have them made and shipped to him so I hope that will work. Tired + Frustrated = bad decisions

I've had a long week too... Wish you resolve this... Best of luck brother, seriously.

the point of contention seems to be the plates only.
if you offer him to send some and he still refuses then you've done all you can to remedy this.
the buyer needs to be a bit more flexible as well in accepting replacement plates.

Just getting in late from out of town, not much sleep, trying to stay on top of all the parts I've sold and make sure I do right by everyone, seems to have taken it's toll on me. I felt like I was slacking on getting the parts mailed out so I just sent it and I totally forgot to email and explain why the plate was missing.

So... like I said, I emailed and offered to refund the cost to have them made from zeski25. Hell... I have aluminum and an engraver so I could even do it...

My bad totally.

I just need sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepppppppp.......

So, you are illegally selling titles, and removing vin tags from hulls. You sold something that you didn't even realise you didn't actually have. And you lied to the guy about that model not having a second tag. They all have a 2nd tag from the factory - it's required. The fact that you didn't send the one tag you found is bad enough.

The way I see it, your local police would investigate you as a chop shop if the seller let them know what you did.

Repay the money, and get the title back. Lesson learned.

The fact that someone else has a tag with that number makes the title worthless. THAT'S why you include the tags.

There are several ways to get a title with just the VIN tag - So now there will be TWO skis with that VIN.

....and to the question above: YES it is illegal to do this.

As far as this issue goes: If I buy a "part", and the "part" is not complete, then it is the SELLER's responsibility to send me the missing pieces.

Not a refund so I can order them from someone else.

So The SELLER should order the missing pieces, and have them sent to the buyer.

I dont think it is smart to advertise on the internet that you are involved in selling HIN numbers. Simply stated, you have committed a Federal crime and are admitting to it on a forum that could be used as evidence against you.

Refund the money, and have this thread deleted.

In before the lock.

Laserman who told you someone stole the plate to get a title?? What made you make the ASSumption this is whats going down??

You guys need to STFU and lay off Stunts. He clearly said he will refund the guys money for the title.
Yea Stunts you should of told the buyer you only had one plate, before the sale. I have a ski with only one plate no big deal.

As far as title selling goes, HA. You guys get your head out of the sand. Laserman, your a turd for even mentioning the police.
