Yes - I haven't ridden this ski for about 18 months what with surgeries and injuries. Amazing what happens when you leave it sitting for that long without paying attention. Oh well, a new housing is a drop in the ocean compared to the money I'm dropping in this ski at the moment!

My sons boat did that, 5200 held it for another season before we tore it down for other stuff, im sure it would still be going just fine.

wow. you guys really 5200 those and reuse? with the time it takes to slide a motor forward, remove all the other associated crap and pull the midshaft, I am replacing it if it looks like that.

Isn't everything pressed against the hull with the three mounting bolts? If that's the case, the worst that would happen is the center of the midshaft starts slipping and you lose power. In order for that to happen though, the bearings have to be going out or the mounting bolts have to be loose. Actually the bolts should hold it all together anyway and the 5200 is really just there as assistance/sealant.

I think 5200 would make a good short term repair, but my boat is stripped so it's getting a new assembly.

If a quick fix with 5200 means that I'm riding this weekend instead of waiting for parts, I'm gluing the sucker.
Nothing will sink and the 5200 is only there to stop air from entering the pump.
This may not be the correct fix but it does work.

Using regular would turn it into a winter project even in your neck of the woods.
I know someone (no, not me) who sealed his pump shoe on a GPR with regular 5200. The shait was dripping all over his garage floor for the next few days.

One fine saturday the wife comes home from shopping and finds the kitchen in a cloud of smoke coming out of the oven.
Guess I didn't clean all the oil off the cylinder before I decided to bake it. Oops.
The bitch feast went on for at least 30 minutes (don't know exactly as I was trying to watch TV) which took me totally by surprise. After all, I did use aluminum foil under the cylinder.

That's why I have a nice oven in the garage, and a big microwave on the wall. If it weren't for the lack of toilet I could live out there. My wife might prefer it that way sometimes.

take it down to bare metal and bare rubber (Get rid of all corrosion), 5200 fast cure it and ride
