Lord mounts ??

The Good Old Days
My pro-tec pipe kept on snapping off the top mount where it bolts up to the stock pipe bracket on top of the head.
This was a solid mount welded to the pipe without any rubber isolator at all.

I'm getting it welded back together (for the third time) and would like to keep it in one piece for more than one ride.

Who has the best selection of lord mounts ?
I would need something that isn't higher than 3cm to align the pipe just right.

Since I got the ski with the pipe on it I don't know if it's meant to be solid mounted on top and I cant find any info on pro-tecs site. I'm thinking a rubber isolator can't hurt.

Here's mine before it started cracking, it's bolted to the stock exhaust bracket.
I'm thinking that some form of isolator might help in the cracking department but will the coupler suffer due to extra movement of the pipe ?

Mouthfulls looks exactly like mine, w/o rubber mounts. But then again your pipe looks like stainless not cast.

strange.

usually cast is more brittle and prone to crack and fatigue more than a SS piece like that.

make sure the rest of the pipe is supported and alighned so as to not load load it more than neccessary.

also, ad some rubber to that mount there, hell, nothing to loose right?

I wonder if the 2 bolts vs 1 plays a part?

after looking at that again, and looking at my cast pipe.

the cast is THICK right there, half an inch or so.

weld another bracket to that one, furhter UP on the chamber, but sandwiched and using the same hole.

easy TIG, scrap stainless, and it would stop that up down movement that is cracking the one in the pic.
