i was wondering what are the best ways to remove an aftermarket impeller?

would heat be a good idea to use?

also if i am using an impact which direction do i need it to go, fwd or rev?

ive tried both directions with no luck, i sprayed some penatrating oil down around the treads too. i guess that grease i put on there whne it got put on didn't last very long.

thanks for the help, i got to get this impeller switched so i can put it up forsale.

the spline tool on the end of the shaft needs to be turned counter clockwise....... (tool side to you, pump side away from you....)

Heat and penetrating oil
on the spline tool, you need a long piece of pipe to get leverage, when you put it back on, use some grease to keep the prop from siezing to the threads.

I put the Spline tool in a vice....dropped some 3n1 on the threads....used a small torch to heat it up and used a monkey wrench(everything else slipped) with a pipe over it to break it lose.

Grease or anti seize(my choice) to keep it form corroding int he future

I hate removing stockers....

i got it, took some maps gas and and impact for 3 mins. then two wrenches and some body weight.

thanks.

what impeller are you going to put up for sale???

not the impeller the whole jetski. i had to take my 13/15 concord off and replace it with my 14/19 supra that came on the ski when i bought it last year

i did it the extensive way, let a friend ride your ski, make him swim it back in with a bent a rod, and the impeller will be loose...

because i can use it as a paper weight for the time being along with my freestyle cone. plus i heard these impellers are like $300 shipped brand new, why not keep it and give myself a reason to get another ski someday.

oh ok,

I hope no one looking at your ski sees this post then.

it looks like you are trying to sell a ski, and then asking for help on how to remove the best parts if it?

and if you are removing parts? and not sure how?

that leaves alot of potential questions.

good luck with that.

its not that i didn't know how to do it at all, i was looking for the best, easiest way to do it. that is all.

they can ask all the potential questions they want, im not tring to screw anyone.

removing the impeller was sotra like taking a b pipe off a ski b4 you sell it, its a good part that a lot of people want, why sell it when you plan on getting another ski someday.

now be honest if i was to say i was going to sell that impeller would you have tried to jump on it?

Nope.

ive bought 2 of them brand new, less than $250 each shipped.

You can try and maximize your profit however you think will best benifit you.

I think you would have been money ahead to sell the OTHER stainless impeller for $50-100, save your time on the impeller RnR, and advertise the boat with a good impeller.

I assume it runs well with the 13/15

my 650 square, does well with pipe/head/msd and a 3mm cut 12/15 concord.

Me personally, Im leary of buying anythign that has been stripped of all the good parts beforehand, unless it is a real bargain.

i dont really think it has been stripped of ALL its good parts. there is deffently a lot more things that ski has to offer other then the impeller. but to each there own.

i dont see how i am tring to maximize my profit when the impeller isn't being sold. it will be put on my next ski whenever that time comes. i could see what you are saying if i was tring to take off everything good on the ski and sell it to a bunch of different people.

yeah, I have to admit.

IM collecting some good impellers too.

Ive got a 13/15 on the shelf too.

waiting for some day, that special ski...

ahhhhhhhhh

dreams.

then you can see where i am coming from....

i think i am done wasting my time on you. do i take and knock you for the things you do, NO!!! please dont knock me for mine.

i simply want to keep the impeller for my next ski. is it that hard to understand that i dont want to have to find another 13/15 impeller when i FINALLY get that ski.
