what pumps fit on sj?

i need the pump wear ring, the local shop has the pumps to a yamaha 1200, 1100, and a mid 90's 6m6 waverunner.
will any of these wear rings fit on my 1990 sj?

The wear ring from the early 90's wave runner should work as long as it's a 144mm pump!

I parted out a 99 GP800 and a 2000 GP760 and they both have a 144 pump and wear ring but anything bigger than the 800 was a 155. I have an extra I'll sell if the one from the dealer doesn't work out. LMK

If it's the stock pump from your SN it is a 144mm, just ask the dealer to measure the wear ring and your all good!

i know that, this is not the greatest of dealers, he has a bunch of machines out back and i help my self. is there a way to see what size each pump is before i take it all apart to find out it is the wrong one?

All I can suggest since its a "pick your own parts dealer" pull the steering nozzle off and measure it!

What year was that BK? I was expecting the 99 GP800 to have a 155 pump and was shocked that it didn't, I wonder why they jammed an 800 thru a 144 and the 760 into a 155?

Also 98-00 GP800's had 144mm pumps too. 01-05 had the 155mm pumps.

The GP800 was a smaller hull like the gp760 so it had the 144 till the GP800R hull came out and it was a pig so it needed the 155.

The Blaster II was just very deep chined/ straked heavy hull with built in sponsons down low, so they put the 155 in and the dual 44's to pull its weight, carve and to get out the hole faster.

be careful with mix and match pump liners. they're not all the same for 144s. some need longer bolts than others. some have threaded holes others use little nuts.

all of the 144 pump liners will work in a sj if you have the right hardware but I think its the threaded ones that fit a little better.

Actually the B2 is a light hull by compairison. Think complete the entire ski was 375 lbs. 50 lbs lighter than an X-4 Seadoo of the same size.

But yeah, that wet hull design had to have a 155 plus the 44's to make that ski work.
I am kicking myself for parting it out now!

It will work. The only difference is between the SJ wear ring and the Yamaha couch 144 wear rings is that on a SJ wear ring the 4 long bolts thread into the wear ring. On the couch rings, they are threaded into the pump shoe.

Sooo, if you want to use a couch pump or wear ring on a SJ, you just have to put nuts on the back side of the 4 long bolts. There is enough clearance to do this before the pump seals on the pump shoe.

I'm currently running a mint 144 couch pump on my RN that Jetmaniac sold me.
Been working great for 2 years now.
