FX-1 Who has a Coffman Dry pipe in there FX1???

I'm not sure who, but I've seen a pic of it. I remember he had to shave down the lip on the engine compartment and dent the side of it to get it in there.

I tried to put it in but it is too tight. I will definitely have to cut the side of the hull by the hood seal. Mike

you do have to cut a little material to make that pipe fit

OK, it is going in much easier than I thought it would. I did have to cut a bit off the lip in 2 places but it is still really strong there and the hood seal is just fine. Here are some pics. Mike

It ripped with the Bpipe on it. It is scary fast with the R&D 770 bigbore cylinder. Mike

Im amazed you can fit it in there. I have one in my square and it barely fits.

Yes, It took me a few days to decide if I really wanted to cut my hull or not. After I talked to another guy that did his I decided to just do it. If it didnt work I can always repair it. Mike

instead of cutting the hull you could take a 2x4 and mark where the pipe hits and then dent the chamber for clearance.

Itll probably need dents and the hull cut. The gas tank will rub a bit unless you put a SJ tank in, that helps it clear.

To get mine to run good, I had to run it as cold as possible with a 145 jet in the stinger. Wont run above 5000 feet like this though unless you pinch the stinger

Do these have more low end then a coffman sizzler? I have the option to buy one of these, but heard it for top end and not worth the hassle.
