Loading into a pickup by yourself??

I just back up till the tailgate is just above the water and yank it off. When i go to put it back on I just shut the ski off lay on the tray to get the nose up, set it on the tailgate then hit the start button and blip the throttle. This is actually easier on steeper ramps and I dont do it in the salt. At the house my driveway has a dip so when i back in my tailgate isnt very far off the ground so I just use a furniture dolly. I would recomend making a rolling stand the same height as your tailgate. I really need to get a double trailer
i wouldnt. ever try to unload a ski into the water from a high cart. its not pretty. loading it onto the cart isnt so easy either if its a high cart. those fatass tires are VERY bouyant.
....unless youre talking about a shop stand.

even if the cart is lower, you can stand up in the bed and pull the nose up. Really, a winch or beach cart is the best way to go.
I am supprised no one has warned you about getting the axles on your truck submerged in the water. You are begging for trouble. If water leaks past the seals you will burn up your rear end on you truck unless it is made for being submerged.

the one that i posted is made by florida sailcraft in fort lauderdale. they advertise in ride magazine. i dont have one near me or id give you the phone number. theyre about $370.
its not about price. its about convenience. you can store your ski on the cart in small places like the bed of a truck or inside of a van. there are no extra tolls involved or registration to renew every year or lights to have to worry about. no bearing buddies to keep greased up. etc etc.
the best part is that you can launch your ski in places that you cant take a vehicle and trailer.

those are cool...except i dont know how one person goes about getting it up there. plus its not really a straight push or pull from the water, but perpendicular.
a buddy of mine runs the same set up, but of course im always there to see it and help him load it...
from time to time ill see one of those beach dollies for sale for like $100. now thats a good deal.

I drive a Tundra and have a Tiger Tote. The cart is @ 2 ft. lower then the tailgate and a pain loading. I tried undoing the tailgate straps to get a better angle and now it's dented from the bumper. Once the ski is loaded the cart only fits in the bed unassembled. I ride alone alot and keep the ski on the trailer & cart in the bed. I'd buy a trailer first.

I made some bunks out of some wood laying around the house and mounted an electric winch to the front of the bed. its a piece of cake getting it in the truck.

I'm in Denton too. When (and where) are you going out next? I'd go today, but I need to got to Austin to get a motor. I'd like to see that winch setup. We went Friday to Lake Lewisville, we put in at Point Vista, just south of the Rave Movie Theater.
