Hey all - been away from the site for a while (had to take the latter half of the summer to install all new windows in my house and fell off the PWC interest for a bit). But I'm back with a vengeance now.

Just wanting to reaquaint myself here, and thought what better spot than the Invasion thread? Funny story - got back on the site, hit "new posts" and a mere 226 pages of postings came up. Yeah I been gone a while.

Anyone got any good ideas for next year? I'm certainly pumped for it (as you can tell)

Also - looking for a part - need a good intake for a 701 with a single 48 Riva carb - let me know if you know of anything out there.

No, but its WAY too late to plan for 2009 Invasion...Considering we are going into 2010 in less than a month ;)

However, I hope this spears off the event..I can't wait to make it my first year. I may even be living down that way this summer if things work out.

Okay, in my haste to write the post I messed up the most important aspect - I meant to say the 2010 Invasion - doh!!

MOVE IT! Not that I didn't like all the big boat action where it was, I just would rather ride in CLEANER water. I'm operating on the pricipal less poo in the water = more fun.

Ha Ha Tonka??? Anyone???

Ha Ha Tonka is a great spot! It was fun last year just got sick than sh*t :puke:Saturday night between all the poo in the water and "Kawi's" deer meat left out in the 100 degree weather! Lets find a place at LOTO that still has some large boat traffic, but not 15 large boats coming at you at one getting to party cove. Not to metion the water patrol sitting all day long across from us. But what ever is decided COUNT ME IN:bananajump:

Rough water is where the good riding is. You want glassy you can go to the river right?

Poo? Come on, don't fall for all the media hype, it wasn't like they made it out to be :)

Definetly don't want glassy water. I'm in for whatever, but I know theres plenty of action on that lake other places with less sewage!

AND MY DEER MEAT WAS AWESOME!!
To avoid heatstroke...remember 2 beers, 1 water.

:haha:

Yeah not to mention the funky smell on the bank, something was rank in that heat where we were setting.

I was one of the first to get there - I too smelled the obvious odor of a dead fish soon after setting up. I found a fish that a coon or some other animal had eaten there by the trees. I picked it up and took it down the bank (not towards the ramp) and threw it out in the lake. I didn't go much past that level of cleaning, and I guess it still had a bit of odor in the air. But believe me it was WAY worse before I did my best to clean it up.

It's a lake man, it has fish in it, some of them are gonna become food for the wildlife :)

I would much rather have the big waves! Who cares about the other stuff.. If you have ever rode on any of the rivers that connect to the Mississippi I guarantee you are riding in nastier water than what you will have at the lake!

e-coli ............... hmmmmmm. Beleive it or not, there is nasty :):):):) everywhere. Every door handle you touch, fountain soda, tables at restaurants (or strip clubs), etc. STL has some of the best tap water in the country and there was still some BS recently about stuff in the water or on the faucets. It was damn near criminal how the ecoli story got started at the lake. The media hype is a powerful tool.

I would have no problem moving the invasion, but waves are required for me.

We could move it to the sand bars on the Mississippi for all I care.

No matter what, I'm in.

x1000... Kinda cracks me up that people are out riding standup's in a crowded lake with drunken idiots, and they are worried about ecoli...

Don't worry about the 35+ ft boats coming at you from all directions..

But seriously...enough excuses...lets get this shyt goin!!

I think we the standups are the ones who were coming at the big boats from all directions, wouldn't you agree? Those boats are just going by to the "cove" and we are swarming around them. Personally, I think I'm pretty careful about it, last freeride I sort of ran spotter for my son (Experimental) out there so he wouldn't get in any trouble (was being a good dad).

You don't have to go all the way out in the boat lanes to enjoy the rough, it comes to you :)

I guess I'm used to the rough water and boat traffic at LOTO, I ride it almost every weekend in the summer (3mm). Nonetheless, we had a great time this last year, and want to do it again. I'll go with the group decision if necessary. If it was too much for some folks, we can tone it down for them to handle it better on future rides :chairfall:

Where we ride there will be plenty of times where you are completely away from the boating lanes, and there will still be guys heading at you full steam like they don't even see you(and for the most part, they didn't see you).

I myself don't cut in front of boats, however have rode with quite a few riders that do and I think its retarded...especially when I have rode around barges(yes..barges on the river).

Im game for whatever as long as its a good time!
