What body filler and spot putty is best?

I have a hull I am painting this week and have some very minor spots to touch up on the hull before paint.
Normally I have some light weight body filler I use and then I use very small amounts of spot/glazing putty on air pockets or stone chips.

On my ski I actually had the filler I used on my fuel cap block off that popped a little after the first few rides.

Any suggestions of something better or is it just bad luck. My light weight body filler was good stuff, but it is pretty old. Maybe that is the problem.

Ditto, this has the advantage of the epoxy base which creates a tenacious bond between it and the hull,it is also more flexible than bondo-plastic fillers and less prone to cracking.

Us Composites SM fairing compound,it is hands down the best fairing compound I have used to date,it sands well, featheredges nicely and applies easily and its cheap,a quart of it will set you back a whopping $4.25 + shipping which is nothing because the container it comes in weighs more than the product inside it.
