What engine setup would it take to flatwater flip my ski?

267lbs ready to ride, shortened 1.75", ~25 degrees of trim.

Currently I have a LPW 760 with taperbored 44's, Enhancer, on pump gas, with a 9/15 Hooker impeller.

If you were going to start changing things with the end result being a flatwater flip, what would you do?

I'm thinking a Team Scream 827 (stock stroke big bore) with total loss would get it on my hull.

I'm in dire need of a full engine rebuild and wondering if I should rebuild what I have or go for more power.

If you put a Total Loss in the set up you have it will flip if you're good enough.

What's your budget?

Unlimited of course. :sneaky:

I'm more trying to set a goal and work toward it, like if the carbs need to be upgraded for sure, that's a short term thing to do, and if the stock stroke setup would work, and since I need a new crank anyway, that's something I can do now also.

Know of any companies that make total loss that might be willing to donate a system to see? :arms: :sneaky:

I would start talking to builders to get you a complete package.
I found this approach to work much better than trying to piece stuff together on your own.
See & price what's out there.

Takes a lot of Brap for flat water, Tems carbon hull with my 860 the nose would come around, but not clean. After riding Pat's Pumpkin a monkey can flip with a 1000cc!

827SS, TL, PFP, Race gas, set up by Xscream . I talked with Pat about that set up for flat water. But if you go that route why not a 10mil/1000cc not that much more than the SS.

I think at this point my path should probably be carbs first, freshen up what I have with a crank/pistons/bearings, then maybe total loss and a big bore which should start showing up more on the used market by then.

I think you should at least give total loss a try before upgrading the engine. There really is a massive improvement in it. Even if you can't backflip with the current engine setup, you'll be able to swap the total loss over to your next engine fairly easily.

I've got a LPW 771 with total loss, sbn 44's, and a tnt pipe. It's great but it's not gonna do a flatwater backflip. I have a lightly reinforced 96 hull.

I've had it on a couple of skis so I'm pretty familiar with it, but my next system is either going to be an ATP or MSD dual coil, no more single coil digital or analog for me.

I have been through many setups now... I'm done throwing stuff together.

Life is short... I like the simplicitiy of a complete setup that works with no fuss (unless something breaks).
