SN vs RN. Whats the difference?

Hey guys I am just thinking about what my next ski is going to be. I won't probably get another one for a while but I currently have my js550 which is my first one.

Basically, what is the pros and cons of a SN vs a RN. For arguments sake lets just say both have a 701. The SNs seem to be in my price range and I actually prefer the look of them. I mainly ride flatwater as well. If I was to get a SN would I be disappointed?

they are essentially the same. the top half of the hull is the main difference.

The RN pole is a lot nicer than the stock SN pole. It's easy to put one on a SN, but just something to think about.

the rn is a much better and stronger hull, the motor is nicer, and its the ski you want.

I put in my time on a SN and I still got much love for them! I just couldnt pass up on the deal I got on the new one! Where's the love???

It's not that much better. They are almost the same ski.

the pole it better, the top deck is fiberglass and not metton, the the 61x/62t motor makes more power.

But the beauty of all this is:

As mentioned earlier, the RN pole can be applied to the SN, reinforcement can be done, and motors can be swapped out!

If you're on a budget, I'd stick with the SN for now unless you come across a deal on a RN you can't refuse.

if you want to get into freestyle seriously your going to want the rn platform due to aftermarket options. also the hood is a better design. the exhaust on the rn is a larger diameter, and the waterbox is better.

Don't disagree with your post....but what is available for the RN that can't be adapted to the SN?

SN hoods can be modded or Louie's hood can be used....or the Masher from Blowsion.

My grin was implying that hoods aren't that important of a mod, especially for a surf ski.

ok so buy, rig, and mod stuff to work, or just buy what works.

i believe hoods are an essential mod for a surf ski, my stock hood would be crushed if i learned backflips with it.
