The rain just isn't going to let up so todays trip was cancled but we are on for next weekend.

Saturday 10-10 is the new date. 9 to 10 am at Lukes

in Shoreacres for anybody that wants to come

We finally made it. Mick has photos on Post 150.

It was a blast!

we have to do that again soon!!

Tanker surfing is just awesome. :headbang:

Those things can kick up some serious wakes.

The inlet to Tampa Bay just south of Fort DeSoto Park is a great spot to find them on this side of the pond.

Joel - I really doubt a boat that small would create that large - I've got many fishing buddies that have told me about the tanker wakes in upper Galveston Bay.

in that video they were not surfing the wake that the video boat was making.

We need to find out where this happens, and hit it one day.

agreed on both counts.

If someone had bothered to let me know something (like they were supposed to) - we might have been able to hit it this past weekend. :poke:

depending on the weather - I may try to scope it out this weekend.

Scope it and we'll hit it soon! Looks like next weekend is the only one open for me...Lucia this weekend, Havasu two weeks from now, next home game (it's Homecoming and we're tailgating!!!) three weeks from now, then Halloween.

You can get to it even with a stand up but you need at least a couch carrying some gas just in case.

I know where they were on the bay let me know if you guys get a date to go on I am in.

We used to launch from Texas city Dike but now that is closed. I think Luke has a launch in Shore Acres that would be a good spot or the county park in Bacliff off 146.


Its better when the bay is smooth but breaks most of the time you just have to wait for tankers to pass.
