SX/SXi/SXi Pro Which Stand Up ski ??

I currently own a Sit down ski and want to make the jump to a stand up. Couple of my friends have a Kawi 650 that i have been riding for a while now. Im kinda looking for something with a little bit more performance. For sure im getting a Kawi, Im considering a 750 but i never actually rode a 750 before. Do you guys think that would be a good choice or is there something i should know about the 750 ski..basically I wanna know if it is a good ski to buy? will i be satified? what is the pros and cons? Thanks in advance

I rode the 650 for a couple seasons and now It's pretty much SXR or nothing for me. If you have have ridden the 650 for a while and gotten used to it and have the money, I would just jump right to the SXR.

SXR for racing, huge for freestyle
750 is a decent ski after you mod the heck out of it
Ski the Kawis and get a superjet- you will end up there eventually

I would love to jump to the SXR and Superjet but that is alot of $$$$. Lets say i decide to go with 750, does it matter what year (older, newer)?any major differences?

older ones are 750 sx then came 750sxi in like 95/96? then you have the sxi pro later years of the 750. you can probally get into a sxr for not much more than the 750 sxi pro. some had small pin motors and some had big pin motors. this info should be somewhat correct.

so basically just save a lil more $$ and get the SXR?..I really would like a one time buy, im probably won't buy another ski for a while

Kinda depends.. Couch guys have an easier time getting on SXr's..

but if you can already ride a 750.. Youll love a jet.. SN or Round.. if its got the twin carb motor. ;!

Man this is all very good information. im glad i talked to you guys before doing anything. same question I asked earlier but for the Yamaha SJ, does it matter what year ( 90s vs 2000s )?... any major differences? Pro n Cons between different years

90 - 95 = SN, 94 & 95 came with 701s (better than the 650s)
but check motor because they take about 15 minutes to swap!
96 - 07 RN, some say the 96 + 97 hulls were better
08 - 09 RN; new hull, more stable, better racer, less freestyle
find skis to test drive.
I prefer the SN hull over the RN hull with the lower handlepole pivot point

After more than 18 years experience in stand-up PWC, Here's more information about Kawasaki 750.
First came in 1992 with single carb.
In 1995 became the Sxi with 2 carbs.
In 1998 the Sxi pro came out with more power, and a new and more agressive hull and smaller gas tank.

The SXR got out in 2003. The hull is larger and taller which make it easier to ride (Like the 650sx). This boat is more stable than the 750. The 750 is a blast to ride and you can turn on the side bumper with your elbow over the water.

If you want to get yourself a 750, 1998 and up would be my choice.
If you have the cash, go with the Sxr.

Yamaha: Good machine too but they are smaller and lighter. They are "Freestyle oriented".

Finnaly, I suggest a kawa for tall/big person for the stability of the kawa. I suggest a Yamaha for light people witch looking for a freestyle machine.

Give more money, less age, no children and I may have the new 800 sxr... Look for the 2010 model release in two weeks at havasu city.
