if you have the x2 nozzle and haven't tried rigging a trim setup to adjust the nozzle up, your missing missing out on a lot. I have mine cranked up about 20 degrees and it really loosens up the ski and makes it a blast in the surf. I tried a trim lever but I think the static trim knob is more worthwhile.

i have a set of tapered spacers that go between the reduction nozzle and pump that i have been playing with.im not sure where to get them from though, they came with my mag pump.slightly down is working well for me and makes the ski turn really well although slightly less playfull.

So would a trim nozzle being loose and allowed to flop around cause porpoising? I noticed my ski was pretty bad after half throttle. Im used to porpoising, but i couldnt get a grip on this. I didnt get too much ride time on the ski b4 my 701 said boom so I didnt rig up my trim controls.

a little shim under the rear of the rideplate and a slight down trim cured my porpising.i can hold it wfo now

Awesome. Ive tried the shimming of the plate, it helped some. I need to shorten my pole as well. I guess I need a motor too. One thing about the x2 nozzle is it only adjusts up. Maybe with a little grinding I can get it to go down. Im porting my 61x so I know its gonna be hopping violently, haha.

I noticed my nozzle is close to my plate as is, how are you going down with yours, maybe with a dcut plate?

Thats brilliant mr fx. What did u steal that knob off of? Is the bracket just screwed to the underside of the tray?

Knob is from an old Thule bike rack I had and the "bracket" is just an old thick head washer from a Kawi 550 that I welded to a short 8mm threaded stud (bolt cutoff) and it simply threads into the excess thread area in the bronze ride plate block on the hull. I know a couple people who've copied this and it works great. I have it installed on both of my FXs and you can easily dial in whatever trim angle you want.

I did find that nozzle down the FX railed corners but was less fun (too stable) in the surf. I cranked it up to where the ski is REAL loose and I love it in the surf and have gotten used to it enough on the flat that I can still rail turns pretty damn fast.

BTW - I haven't found a nozzle position yet that causes the ski to porpose, so if you have that issue I'd look for the problem elsewhere....FYI

Thanks for the info special, im gonna try to make a bracket. As for the porpoising I was wondering if the trim nozzle being able to move however it wants would contribute to the hopping.
