I'm at the end of my current tuning skills & need some help. Since Paul (Magoos) reworked the porting on my former RIVA pump gas cylinder for more low end I've been slowly fine tuning the jetting and limited B-pipe water injection screws. Now I have it so it rips hard from just off idle cleanly through to high revs.:Banane01: :Banane01: :Banane01: :Banane01: Plugs are a nice tan color, virtually the same on both cylinders. If you ride around slowly & hit it, it pulls cleanly, from 1/8 throttle & up the jetting/pipe settings just rip.:Banane01::arms: :arms: :arms:
BUT, there's still a slight hesitation from just off idle, especially noticeable when you do lip rippers off a small wave. It's only there when you let revs drop to almost idle (let off the gas to set up). The ski starts easily, idles cleanly, but sounds like it's kinda misfiring (rich sounding) in that small rev range just off idle. If you ease into the throttle it's worse; if you just grab a handful it's a bit better. I've tweaked the low speed screws to no avail. The misfiring sound off idle won't respond to slightly richer or leaner settings, & right now I seem to have the best low speed power where they're set.
I did have to lean out the front low speed adjuster about 1/4 turn leaner than the rear to get the same color & it improved the power as well.
Could I have a chipped reed? Any other thoughts?:boggled:
