Someone needs to take a damn washrag to a machine. Embarassing....
I don't judge. Our shop is a total pit. Summer is so hectic that cleaning/organizing gets pushed way back.

Our local shop that builds our turbo adapters for our MR2 turbo kits had a manufacturer's rep out there a week ago. Apparently their 5 axis machine was ATTACKING (and nearly destroying) our adapters about 90% of the way through the process...like you said "worthless until finished." I know they got it fixed, but I didn't ask what the problem was. We've made several hundred of them so it shouldn't have been a programming problem at this point.

How many of the BIG bore strokers like mine are out there? I think mine was a pretty early one because Kyle realized my pistons were touching my domes and changed them a little. Also the interference fit between teh domes and the head shell was TIGHT. He was supposed to recut to fix that, but I have never pulled them out to test since then.

Aaron,

1. I hate when that happens....nothing like throwing away parts/endmills when shiz goes bad on a CNC machine. I have a saying, "The only thing CNC's are better at than convention machines, is phucking up more parts faster."

2. Many....We have been building the billets since mid '06 I think.

Your shell may be .001-.002 too small. Tight is good, you know what I am sayin?

We have been producing them the same, on the same machine, since '01-'02, and even through switching to the billets.

You are correct, sir.
