Yeah for a few different things, few trailers one military truck and a standup i got cheated on by nikad. I have heard that on july 9th 09 some law passed making titling items more difficult but these guys are good and everything is legit.

Just title it as home made especially since your cutting it all up. I got the registration for my hull and the HIN Plates, so that could take care of your problem ;)

I don't see how Flat Braps link will work for this situation. Tbaer says he DOESN'T have a HIN. The link instructions ask for a HIN. It seems this service tracks down lost paper work not create missing HIN #'s. But then again it's based in Vegas so who knows.

Yea that first IMO. ^^ Because if you try to get a home made or kit boat title you will need a lot of receipts......cases, hull, materials, etc...

Just go to your courthouse or MVD and apply for a lost title in your name. It will take 6 months to clear, but you will get a replacement and it will be all clear.
At least thats what I've done here before.

of my boat doesn't have a hin. i got a bill of sale. there is nothing to go to jail for. people buy "race" motorcyles all the time that don't have vin or title. it is not wrong or illegal. so i am just rying to find the legal way

Exactly... Thats what those "lost title" companies do, only they do the paper work and leg work for you for a fee. You can do it yourself if you want to. Call up where you have to go to license your boat and ask.

Man you're getting flamed for trying to do something legit. Why is it that everyone who buys a carbon hull and wants a title is treated like royalty but someone who buys a used stripped out hull to build over the winter and wants a title is a scammer or a thief? :261: Not all of us are made out of gold.

BTW - You didn't do anything illegal by buying something without a title or HIN. The guy who sold it to you would be the one doing something illegal. The problem is, if someone claims that hull stolen and that guy tips the police off that you have it, a bill of sale means nothing and you could be out a few hundred dollars when they confiscate the hull but that's about as far as the penalty on your end goes.

Actually, if you bought it in good faith, and can prove you paid a fair amount for it, you get to keep it. At least in this state...
