300/440/550 650 Cooling

I got a torn apart abandoned 650sx out of a customers yards. I have rebuilt the engine and have it all pretty much back together but I am wondering about the cooling. It has a Team Butch pipe and the pump is tapped for dual cooling. The exhaust mani only has one tap and there is no place thick enough for another tap. The head has an additional tap with a tee in it. At first I thought this would be for a flush fitting but where does the extra line from the pump go?
In that tee maybe?

Help would be much appreciated, peace.

I believe the pump should only go into the manifold. I learned this from pwctoday. If you have to dual lines you can get a dual cooling manifold or maybe add a y fitting to make both lines into one.

You don't want to put a Y fitting before the manifold.

You have to have a dual tapped manifold. You can get an aftermarket one or weld some extra material on a stock one before tapping it. It's also a good idea to make the manifold inputs symmetrical so you'll have to fill the stock fitting and tap the manifold twice.

The water routing should go from the pump to the exhaust manifold. Then one fitting on the head should go to the pisser.

The second fitting on the head should goto the head pipe.
The second fitting on the head pipe should T to the stinger and to a second pisser.

The Team Butch 650 pipe is a West Coast Pipe.

Do you really need dual cooling? What's all done to the engine?

That's exactly the way the B-pipe on my Blaster is plumbed and what makes sense to me. The ski was taken apart, all the parts in the hull and the hull was full of water, leaves and mud but supposedly it was running prior to disassembly. That's what was confusing me but who's to say the person that built it did it right.
The engine is stock so unless the pipe needs additional cooling I guess I can plug it. Would it hurt anything to put the extra cooling line in the tee on the head since it is already there?

Thanks for the help

Or you could cool the engine with one line and the exhaust pipe with the other line,a lot of peeps do it that way.

Heading out for a water test:Banane01:

Thanks for the help, I'm bringing fittings and clamps. I'll start with blocking the line from the pump and if the pipe seems too hot then I'll put that one on the pipe and block one on the head.

I got a Westcoast mani with two taps that I can put on when I get gaskets but I can't wait to get it wet.

Wish I had a can of Infract-Away though, no numbers yet:lmao:

I will be running a sale on Infract-Away later this month,fo sho you don't want to miss this,If only Pete had bought a can earlier.:fing02:

I'll take two cases of the tall boys:silly: I can always use them!
Was lucky today though.

The ski ran OK but not much bottom pop. The prop is decent so I'm going to look for an intake that will accept a bigger carb, the one on it now is tiny.

No cooling problems, all in all it's off to a good start:headbang:

Put on Westcoast exhaust mani with dual taps and switched to a Skat 16 prop. Still need carb but much better pop.
