Compression checking?

Do you test the compression on a 08 Superjet just like a boat?

Remove the plug wires on both cylinders and plug in the jug you want to test, hook up the tester, give her a couple cranks on the starter and read compression???

There has been a lot of debate on this but, I remove both plug's hookup the compression gauge in desired cylinder and crank with throttle wide open.

Ground your wires and leave one plug in and crank till you get a reading that stays steady. then hold that reading to make sure the psi reading does not drop.

hold in stop button while cranking to kill/ground spark....leave one plug in other cyl, it will actually crank faster per Group K research...

Hold the throttle wide open while cranking and hold the stop button in.

Isn't that what the R in BR9ES is for.. Resistor.. the ski's ignition requires the resistance on the the plug from a complete ground. without it there can be damage.. or so i'm told..

And get a good gauge or verify with another.. my NAPA reads 10psi low.. 150 - 160psi no biggy.. 185 - 195 mucho problemo..

I thought the R in the B'R'9....which means resistor, was for the interference free plugs. Meaning that they wont interfeer with radio signals....?

Yea your correct. Not sure what the other guy was talking about needing resistance so he was told.

I think they are actually a little higher due to a milled head. 160 stock IIRC
