eric malone new q8 hull !!!!!

i just got home from the pittsburgh show. malone has his new q8 ski's there. he was tearing it up as always!!! the Red Bull freestyle MX guys were giving us jetski freestylers big props!! that was pretty cool ,,,,,, but the news worthy thing was eric built a Q8 for rambo rosie, it was EME's q8 hull, but powered by rosies stock sxr 800 motor/pump with a trim system... all she has is a pipe, and a machined head, thats all... malone was playing on it after the show, and was attempting flatwater back flips... he got around 3/4 and nosed it in a few times!!! it was awsome to see a basicly stock powered ski pull tricks like that... i was very, very impressed, i figured it was worth posting... i took some pics, and a video., will download them tomorrow. going to bed, the river beat me up..

i hear ya! iv been thinking about it all weekend.... he said hell set the hull up for his eme motor, kawi motors or yamaha... i have a 10mm lamey pv in my superjet now,,, it would be amazing in a hull like that,,, but after ridding rosies with the stock motor, it would be great to have one with a nice reliable limited package motor... ( head, carbs, big bore, some porting and a pipe) .. it was an eye opener to see him almost get around on a flatwater backflip with a stock motor... it was fun to watch!!!

it was awsome to watch him on that ski,,, 1/3 of the horsepower, but same technique! the hull is light, but its completly different than anything iv ever seen... super fun to watch!!! hes a machine! dialed in!!!!!

I am xtra stoked now to see what my limited SXR motor is going to do in my Trinity hull! I think I should be able to flat water roll it....

DJ, did you get it put together? hope you have it dialed for your Ride...

Man, Eric blasted that Q8 to us so fast...awesome "turn-around time" under 8 weeks from my order, building the hull from scratch, till ski finished and riding it... He even took a day on the water with us, doing adjustments and tips..

Great time this weekend in Pittsburgh...I was out there for my first event with my newly built ski and what an expereince it truly was. Seeing Eric on his Q8 ripping back flips, flares, & no handed barrel rolls with ease was truly amazing from 10 feet away.

However, even more amazing was getting the chance to ride his Q8 EME 1000. Not knowing what to expect I was extremely timid at first after a couple minutes of get a little too comforatable I quickly found out that I wasn't quite ready for that much BRRRRAAAAPPPPP!!!! After making a nice little setup wake and coming around I barely hit the throttle and found myself up-side-down about 6 feet off the surface of the water and bailing out of fear for my life. I don't get scarred often and I can't remember the last time I was that terrified. Needless to say after that moment I made a b-line back into shore to try to recompose myself.

It was really cool of Eric to hand me his Q8 and let me try it even though it was way too much for me to handle. I was considering pourchasing a new 900 stroker motor with power valves, but after seeing and riding a Q8 and seeing Eric almost do a backie with Rosie's Q8 with the stock Kawi motor in it, I quickly relized I would be better off dropping 6 to 8 grand into one of Eric's hulls with my current motor instead of having a new motor built for me.

Tommy thanks again for a great event .
the dinner and drinks were great after the show on saturday,
and very much appreciated,
You always take care of your riders first class!!
That Q8 is an awesome hull it feels very stable for being short.
the Q8 makes big air freestyle seem easy and natural
In 10 min I had a big air barrel roll on Rosie's ski
Very easy ski to get used too.

Thanks for the big pay out and the first place
better than the payout Eric voted me first place
What an honor

I must give props to all fellow riders at the event
everyone rode there Butt off and had the huge crowds in AWWW
great job and thanks again to you all Kenny,Hunter,Sammy,Corry,Rosie,Tommy
and Eric Malone you are a true champion with a lot of class
you are a great guy to hang around and fun as hell wen were out with you, and the way you help fellow riders with ridding tips shows how you truly want the sport to grow.

I truly believe the typhoon Tommy WFWA jet ski stunt shows
are the forefront for the resurgence of the stand up jet ski.
when signing autograph's on posters I here kids saying to mom and dad "I want to learn to jet ski"
By bringing these shows to the masses people are looking the jet skis in a new way.

Keep up all the hard work Tommy anything you need to make things happen I am here!!
It is paying off in big ways to us all !!!
your the man :bow28:

Thanks mike, well after a few sessions riding the Q8, maybe 20 mins total, when Rosie will let me ride it. I am really rolling that Q8.. prolly 25 in a row today in choppy water... All Flat water rolls, using a set-up wake, which I made...

Not bad for a sit down guy...
