I just want to shout out to Lou and Scotty for helping me out with a broken steering cable. Without them I would have been back on the trailer.


Having said that, I had a blast! IF, at any time, I had thought about a platform change (yamaha) this ride removed all doubt. The SXR is a badass ski for LOTO conditions. Scotty's trinity hooded SXR was 10 ft off the water going huge, my ski flew just fine as well. I know the SJ is nimble and tough to beat on flatwater, but if you need to rip ass across LOTO to catch a wave (or keep from getting run over) there is no other ski to be on than a SXR.

I could be wrong.............. but I doubt it, just ask my wife. LOL

You catch yourself going wee...wee. You almost got it right...


But in Yamahas defense. I can hang with your SXR on about any kind of water chasing down a boat going 20 MPH. The SJ won't hang when it comes to carving in those conditions but you are going straight for 10 seconds then letting off to set up for another wave.

The rough conditions once or even a hand full of times a year still doesn't justify putting that thing back together every month because it can't handle the weight of smashing into the water 500 times a day. Or the fact that you have to live with it for the rest of the year.

You could just buy a yamaha and a lead plate to bolt under the fuel tank for those 5 or 10 times a year you want a heavy nosed ski to chase a boat down with. The actually made a race weight system for the Sj to make it a heavy dull feeling ski. Then Kawi made the SXR. :crazy: I had to throw that in there... LOL

Do you remember how LOTO is on the weekends? Its a little more than riding fast in choppy water.

Haha you guys are funny.... I did ride a few minutes and I mean just a minute or two....

Heck I have ridden all the way from the camp ground to party cove. And it is just rough water it's not that bad. Kinda like rend lake on a windy day. But the boats are bigger... But my point is you are one talented rider and sexy with on pant leg but that is besides the point. I would like to see you compete a few times and it wouldn't take much with the right ski.
