If you have done this mod, tell us about the difference from stock, reliablity issues, and time it took to put it in.

I've found one picture tutorial for the kawi 650 pump. Does anyone know where more tutorials are? We should try to get all links on one post.

Put some time on this site and just search up everything that has to do with 650 sx pump 144 pump and fx1. I'll start you off....search special fx. theres a few there.

Ive searched the forums alot and still have alot of questions too. Best but would be to take a sj and take a fx1 flip em over and give it a good look over to see what all needs to be done.

I was thinking about buying a SJ and making a mold from the front of the intake grate to the back of the ride plate and just tailoring my fx1 to drop it right in. Reinforce and install sj parts. Not sure if its that simple though...

So instead of spinning out, the ski will hold a line better and be able to lean over farther without loosing hookup?

Id like to know the best method of doing the conversion. Can i simply cut out the entire pump and intake from a sj and from my fx1 and swap em out using the stock drive shaft or will it not line up right?

I'm pretty sure the fx-1 is like 3 inches more narrow then a sj. Another guy on here had thought of doing that but went a different route. I think 140sx

They are the same width as the SJ.The fx actually has less rocker so I'd say it's longer(on the bottom at least). The flat area that ends at the pump is @ 1in. narrower than the SJ so that area needs to be modified. You would need to either widen the flat on the fx or reshaped the SJ pump inlet area for it to match. I've tried FX's with the 650 mod and it's a big difference over stock but still does'nt hook like a SJ.

I wonder if the fx-1 with the superjet 144mm conversion and 144 shoe and carved out intake area to use a superjet intake would hook up the same as a superjet? Theoretically it should be the same or better since the fx-1 is lighter.

Anyone who has tried both the 650 (140mm) and superjet (144mm) conversion with or without the superjet intake grate care to comment?
