Could i take a 95 sj hull and make a mold of the pump and intake area and then make a new pump area to glass into my fx1 for the pump conversion? There is a 95 hull and hood for sale near me for a good price and id love to do the pump conversion and it would be quite nice if i could just make a mold of the sj then resell the hull instead of chopping it up.

i would shoot bonzi bob a pm. i don't think you have to do much with his mod.

never chop up a good sj hull. so one will want it.

Yes you can do it that way as a matter of fact I am about to do exactly that only using a Kawi pump on several skis here.

My idea is to make a mold from the sj hull so i dont have to chop it up.
That way i can pop a mold of the pump area and make a "conversion kit" from it hopefully. That way i get the 144mm pump, 144mm pump shoe, and enlarged intake + the ability to use an sj intake and ride plate.
And then i can either flat deck the sj hull, build it into a running ski, or sell it.

How hard do you think it would be? will things line up alright? im not to experience in this field but i have done a little glassing so i dont mind experimenting. Do you know of any problems i may encounter? Also what differences are there in the pump areas? ive searched some fx1 conversion threads but most are just doing the pump only

Yes you may have problems with alignment,its a tricky one but it can be done for sure,
