Blowsion finally came through, but i have 2 questions...

Got my primer kits and mat from blowsion finally but im reading over the instructions and have a couple questions.

Step 8 says to press the fitting into the choke shaft and seal them with epoxy or case bond if necessary. How will i know if its necessary? just if its loose? And what would i just, normally marine 2 part epoxy?

Step 10 says to cut the line going to the on/off valve as close to the valve as possible. Can i not just pull the line off if i need to be so close or should i leave room for a fitting to fit onto the line? i need to look through the kit a bit more but that part makes little sense to me.

if it is loose, jbweld works well
miks generally press fit, Keihins need jb
there is a debate over supply side or fuel return side
I use supply line to the selector where it goes past the carbs

So where in the line should i put the t fitting? That choke plate and shaft was a b**** to remove... One of the screws broke so i ended up snapping the shaft in half so i could get it out. The carb fitting fit fine, i had to coax them with a hammer a good bit so im no longer worried about them. I just need to finish turfing before i can mount the primer and run the lines.

Put your 'T' for the supply in the reserve line between the petcock and the tank.
Just fill up your ski with fuel for the day and use the 'ON for the fuel selector then prime away for starting and riding, this way ski will start and not run out of fuel when hooked into the reserve side. IMO I don't like using the return line as the supply as usually not enough fuel to supply the primer when cold and system not primed and flowing fuel in the return line.

I run my T in the on line, not the reserve line
the logic being if it starts to lean out, I can
cut it onto reserve which is a straight shot from the tank
and I only need primer for the first crank of the day
so I pump until I have resistance and know the carb has fuel
and the on line has fuel close to carb

simple install and seems to work great! thanks guys

I think u should tee into the reserve line...primer lines can cause potential lean carb/motor conditions when there is air in primer lines...

yup, just had this problem, Actually I think I had it part of last year as well and did not know what was causing it.. Caused my run at Nationals to really suck.

why would you be running on reserve at the nationals?
wouldnt you have at least 1/2 a tank and run on "on"?
