Completely flat trailer - Yay or Nay?

What do you think? I want to convert my single place trailer with bunks to a flat trailer with places for two superjets. If i convert my trailer to a flat bed trailer, i'll be able to use it for other things as well. Does the hull take more stress if it's being towed on a flat surface as opposed to carpeted bunks? What i have in mind is in the photo below...

You could just make bunks that you could strap or secure to the flat bed, Easy to make, I like using 2X4s with PVC piping ski's slide right on and off. But I dont think you would have to worry about the hull just on a flat bed. Having bunks would just make it easier to get on and off.

Almost forgot... what's the proper technique for loading a double trailer? If i put one jetski on one side, will the trailer tip over because all weight will be on one side temporarily? Or is it recommended to load up both sides simultaneously?

if you got a flat trailer, with 1 ski, put it in the middle

putting bunks on would be easy.. just get a 2x4 and cut it at the angle you want the bunk to sit and you can screw the whole thing to the platform..

Its best to use some kind of bunks, or else the ski will roll and slide around. Plus the grate and plastic pump shoe will taking an unecessary beating when trailered.

Brett... looks nice. how wide is your trailer?

My crossmembers are kinda V shaped... should i replace my crossmembers with straight ones and then lay plywood over or should i just add some brackets to crossmembers that would support the plywood?

What plywood thickness do you guys use? How do you secure it to trailer framing?

What about water rot? Do you leave it as it is or paint it with some outdoor decking paint for protection?
