what kid of fiberglass do i use for reinforcement??

Pretty sure he is redoing a shotty reinforcement job that delaminated (on the inside).

yeah your exactly right, this guy just didn't know what he was doing. I re did the footholds today as they were set in at different heights and angles. Had to grind for 3 hours to try and even them out and now i am going to lay glass over the foam thats showing and i should end up with some nice custom fitted footholds. Thanks for all the help everyone. I hate fixing other peoples mistakes but i am going to learn a lot with the project

my foothold advice is only good for installing new footholds. if you are fixing old holds you'll need something more substantial.

yeah i did realize that after i started cutting out the footholds. I am thinking maybe a layer or two or three of 17oz bilax would do the trick. The problem was is the guy put the holds in to high and one at a slight angle so they didnt feel the same when you put your feet in. I ground for hours trying to make them the same on each side and am shaping the foam and so on. Then ill cover it all up with a few layers of thick cloth.

Where did you get this ski? Got any pics of it?

i got it from a guy on the form who lived in kentucky. he met me in indiana and i was coming from minnesota. When i got there you couldn't really see much but when i got it home and started pulling stuff out you could see all the shoddy work and the really bad foothold installation and reinforcement. I am done gridning the footholds the same and i need to grind off the old reinforcement and add some new bilax to the bay and also the footholds. (i think bilax would work) the footholds are now semetrical and fit my feet but i had to do a lot of grinding and need to replace where the hold was with something strong, and im thinking of using a few layers of bilax.
