help with shipping to Australia

What is the best/cheapest way to ship to Australia? I priced a box 60 x 8 x 8 that weighs 7 -10 lbs. the length is what kills it I think, but then again I have never shipped anything to Australia. my quote was just under 300.00!!!! yikes. might be cheaper to fly over and make parts and fly back! WTF?

Postal or might be able to throw in frieght on yrc.com not sure but they are great with crating skis.

yeah.. "dimensional weight" is what kills you.
60" is right about where carriers will start charging an additional premium.

Post Office is probably best bet.
